My paintings are process-led — complex and richly layered centred around colour and gesture. Surfaces are built by adding and removing, editing and reworking. There’s a dance between the application of the marks and the development of the composition - between resolution and imperfection.

Oil lends a fluid materiality; dabs and dashes, drips and scrapes play against one another. Working in layers over several months, recording the passing of time - each work feels both considered and alive. Bounty distills this approach — richly worked layers and gestural marks allowing colours to emerge and coalesce into a loose, suggestive form.
